We recently partnered with the State of Florida to offer Career Online High School to residents of Winter Park, 19 years of age and up, who have a full-service library card, and wish to earn their High School diploma and career certificate. A limited number of scholarships, five total, will be available to qualified students.
The 4-step application process includes:
- Step 1- Self Assessment- to determine if this online high school program meets your educational/career goals
- Step 2- Prerequisite Course- if basic requirements are met, pre-req course scheduled
- Step 3- The Interview- once steps 1 & 2 are completed, an interview is scheduled
- Step 4- The Scholarship- library will contact students about scholarship awards, coursework begins
Scholarships awarded begin Fall 2019; the application and program information are available now. Core classes consist of Math, English, Social Studies and Science. In addition to a high school diploma, graduates will earn a career certificate in one of the following fields - Certified Protection Officer, Certified Transportation Services, Child Care & Education, Food and Customer Service Skills, General Career Preparation, Homeland Security, Office Management, Retail Customer Service Skills.
