The Winter Park Public Library is proud to announce that the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association Board of Directors voted to support the bond referendum that will fund the new library, events center and parking. The referendum appears on the March 15 ballot.
ORRA’s endorsement stated that support for the new library is in line with ORRA's position favoring neighborhood amenities that enrich communities, improve quality of life, and make homeownership more attractive.
“We are grateful to the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association for recognizing that the plan for a new library and civic center, two years in the making, will be a valuable asset to current and future residents,” Library Executive Director Shawn Shaffer said.
The referendum includes up to $30,000,000 in bonds to fund a proposed 50,000-square-foot library, 8,500-square-foot events center and 220-space, one-story parking deck on the site of the current civic center, at the corner of Morse Boulevard and Harper Avenue. The plan and bonds were unanimously approved by the Winter Park City Commission, and must now be approved by Winter Park voters to move forward.
ORRA has more than 11,500 members in Orange, Seminole, and the surrounding counties. The full endorsement can be viewed at http://www.orlandorealtors.org/news/273961/ORRA-supports-REALTOR-candidates-for-Ocoee-mayoral-Apopka-council.htm.
