The Winter Park Public Library (WPPL) invites patrons and area residents to take advantage of three different ways to find their perfect match this Valentine’s season. As part of its Love Your Library initiative in February, WPPL announces a personalized “perfect book” match service, an Online Dating 101 class, and a match grant opportunity to double the value of February charitable contributions.
Anytime during library hours, WPPL staff at its research desk will help guests find a “perfect book match” based on their personal likes and lifestyle. “Our librarians are really eager and excited to work with each patron one-on-one to find that perfect book they won’t want to put down,” said Andrea Lee, WPPL adult services librarian. “With busy lives and less time to devote to recreational reading, finding a book that hooks you from the beginning is such a great experience to pass along to our loyal patrons,” added Lee.
WPPL’s Online Dating 101 class on February 28, 6:30 to 8:00pm, is offered to help those interested in trying out dating sites like Match.com, but who have been reluctant to for fear of scams or simply not knowing where to begin. In a fun and non-committal environment, this class will explain how to navigate dating sites, create an interesting profile, and send engaging messages while also offering tips on avoiding risk.
To show their “love” for donors, the library announces a match grant opportunity for donors to make double the impact of charitable contributions up to $5,000 and feel confident their supportive dollars go a longer way in helping the WPPL continue to offer diverse education for the community. “This library is a public private partnership with over half of its revenues dependent on private contributions, so community support is vital to sustain all we have and do here,” said Kristin LaFleur, WPPL development director. “This matching program is a win-win for both generous patrons and the library.”
Enrollment in Online Dating 101 is required and possible on the calendar section of wppl.org or by calling (407) 623-3300. To support the library and take advantage of the Love Your Library match grant, give online or contact Kristin LaFleur at email@example.com or (407) 623-3277.
