The Winter Park Public Library welcomes new members to their board of trustees. The four new members are Margaret Geisler of Florida Hospital; Erick Wicker from The Brain and Spine Institute for Children; Lawrence Lyman of Tactical Electronics Corporation and Elizabeth Drosdick Francetic, active local art and civic volunteer and recently with Rollins College.
“With our exciting future including a new 21st century facility scheduled to open in 2020, I am pleased we have added such distinguished individuals, with a broad range of professional influence in our community, to help guide the library forward,” said Shawn Shaffer, executive director. “Each of our newly elected board members are committed to the library’s next chapter with services, classes and events that will educate, enlighten and entertain residents of all ages, abilities and incomes.”
The WPPL’s Board of Trustees meets monthly to set organizational and fiscal policy and oversee fundraising. These new board members will join the current board consisting of President Trish Gallagher, Vice President Brad Doster, Secretary Neda Khosrowzadeh, Treasurer Carla Hansen, and Trustees John Awsumb, Carolyn Kraft Bethel, Stacey Dickenson Cox, Andrew Dubill, Alex Gourlay, Teresa Herrmann, Daniel McIntosh, Tom McMacken, Dr. Jessica Williams, Marina Nice, Martin Prague, Joel Roberts, Hope Clayton Roll, and Pitt Warner.
ELIZABETH DROSDICK FRANCETIC: Elizabeth Francetic is a life-long resident of Winter Park with a personal history of the library going back to her early childhood. She was most recently the Director of Alumni Relations at Rollins College, and served as the executive director on the Alumni Board of Directors orchestrating the College’s 125th Anniversary celebration. Francetic is active in the Central Florida community through her civic involvement in business, art and charitable organizations and will bring a strong combined personal and professional “homegrown” perspective to the board.
MARGARET GEISLER: Margaret Geisler is currently the Marketing Manager at Florida Hospital. She brings to the Winter Park Public Library board over 12 years of experience in developing strategies to accelerate brand exposure and drive community engagement. Her public relations and marketing career experience in high end fashion retail and healthcare will aid the library in developing strategic partnerships and relationships as the library continues to plan for the future.
LAWRENCE LYMAN: Lawrence Lyman is the Vice President of Business Development and Government Relations for Tactical Electronics Corporation, a U.S. company that provides custom engineering services for public and private sector organizations, representing the company worldwide from his Winter Park office. He is a graduate of Leadership Winter Park and serves as incoming President-Elect of its Alumni Council, serves on the Leadership Florida Board of Directors, and numerous other area civic organizations. Lyman’s leadership skills and global business expertise will strengthen the library board.
ERICK WICKER: Erick Wicker is currently the Business and Clinical Operations Manager for The Brain and Spine Institute for Children and brings to the Board of Trustees over 19 years of experience in education, management and leadership. Wicker has been a Central Florida resident since 2008 as an educator and now in the private sector. His experience will add depth to the library’s education and healthcare partnership outreach.
