ALA Great Web Sites for Kids
- American Library Association with links to over "700 Amazing, Spectacular, Mysterious Web Sites for Kids and the Adults who care about them."
Wired Safety  - The world's largest internet safety, help and education organization.   This site includes information about talking to your children about downloading music.

- A non-profit organization of educators and parents united to address the unique needs of gifted and talented youth.
National Foundation for Gifted and Creative Children - A non-profit foundation which provides information and guidance to parents and educators of gifted and creative children. 
National Institute for Child Health and Human Development  - A resource for online publications on a wide range of subjects.

The Educator's Reference Desk - You can access the resources of the ERIC database, and print up abstracts of articles submitted to ERIC.
FCAT Explorer - FCAT Explorer is a practice and skills reinforcement tool based on Florida’s Sunshine State Standards. Public school students, teachers, Charter Schools and Homeschools can use the FCAT Explorer free of charge. To acquire a sign-in name and password, contact your teacher or the FCAT Explorer Support Services Team at 1-888-750-FCAT (1-888-750-3228).

Learn In Freedom - This site discusses the many advantages of home schooling and uses many of John Holt's ideas. There are many links to other discussion and resource pages.

Get Ready to Read - A program of the National Center for Learning Disabilities with tools to help build early literacy skills.

Jim Trelease Home Page  - Jim Trelease is the author of the Read-Aloud Handbook.  This is a good resource for reports on reading research and other information. 
National Right to Read Foundation - For information on reading research.

Reading Is Fundamental - RIF is the nation's largest nonprofit children's literacy organization.
