About the Artist:

Local artist Don Sondag grew up in Winter Park, which explains his intimate knowledge of the city’s lakes and canals that figure so prominently in many of his paintings. While Sontag is known for his portraits, landscapes and still-lifes, he is probably best-known for his numerous commissioned portraits of local community leaders. Two of his most recognizable paintings have become synonymous with two Winter Park icons: the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival and Casa Feliz. He continues to work locally as well, teaching portraiture and painting both at the Crealde School of Art and the McRae Art Studios.
