The church was organized in 1887 by Reverend and Mrs. Charles Ambrose.   The building was erected at the corner of Pennsylvania and Lyman Avenues in 1892.   With close to 400 active parishioners, Mt. Moriah represents the oldest and one of the largest African-American churches in Winter Park.   Reverend Alfonzo Cobb has served as the pastor for the past five years.
