To quote from the December 7, 1950 Winter Park Herald, "The Langford Apartments opened officially December 3, 1950. Robert E. Langford, owner, will be in Winter Park from Chicago for the opening. Mr. Langford paid tribute to Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Bledsoe saying 'he would never have considered building the place if the Bledsoes had not agreed to handle everything.' Bledsoe owns and operates the Mt. Vernon Lodge on Orlando Avenue."
Mrs.Beth Harben was the first manager of the 24-unit Langford apartments and continued in that position for seventeen years. Mrs. Harben died August 30, 1978.
Another long-time manager was Mrs. Marjorie A.
Johnson. Mrs. Johnson managed the Langford Apartments for
ten years. She was an employee of the Robert E. Langford family for over 61 years, working first in Langford's Chicago hotel and then relocating to Winter Park in 1961 to work at the Langford Resort Hotel.
Mrs. Johnson died in 2006.
"Langford's Last Stand" was the title of an article published in the Orlando Sentinel March 28, 2004. The article reported that the Langford Apartments would be torn down and site work will began in June 2004, for a four-story, 31-unit condominium complex named "Langford Condominiums."
