Friday the 13th was definitely an unlucky day.   On August 13, 2004, Hurricane Charley tore through Winter Park leaving downed trees, loss of power, debris, and damaged homes behind.

The week after Charley left town, Diana Zimmerman, Digital Imaging Specialist for the Winter Park Public Library History and Archives Department, walked along Park Avenue and other Winter Park streets to document some of the hurricane's damage.
