Three Rollins College Buildings · 1888

This photograph of Rollins College was taken c. 1888. From left to right are: Knowles Hall, Pinehurst Cottage, and the Dining Hall. All three buildings were constructed in 1886.
- Knowles Hall featured a chapel, library, and recreation hall. This building burned down in 1909, but was replaced in 1910.
- Pinehurst Cottage is considered the first building on Rollins’ campus. It served as a dormitory for thirty boys and teachers, but it also housed the office and private rooms of the college president. Pinehurst Cottage still stands.
- The Dining Hall not only served as its name implies, but it also featured two practice pianos in the extra rooms. It burned in 1918.
