In 1950, world-renowned Czech-American sculptor Albin Polasek (1879-1965) built his home and studio at 633 Osceola Avenue. Intended to be the home at which he would spend his retirement, he lived and worked there until his death. After his death, the home was converted into the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens. This estate consists of three acres of gardens, throughout which one can find large pieces of sculpture and four galleries that house a major portion of his life’s work.
The Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 2000.
