What is a Teen Volunteer?
If you're a teenager
interested in volunteer service, then Winter Park Public Library’s Teen
Volunteers is the program for you! Volunteering at the Library is a great way
for teenagers to fulfill community service requirements both during the school
year and during the summer months. Teen Volunteers are young patrons who assist
library staff with a variety of library-related tasks such as preparing and
presenting children’s programs, filing and shelving library materials, and other
duties.
Teen Volunteer
Requirements
• 12 to 18 years of age.
• Minimum three-month
commitment - six months or more preferred.
(This commitment does not apply during the months of June and July)
• Regular schedule is
required for many positions (weekly or every other week).
Your Commitment
Please consider carefully
whether this time commitment will fit your schedule or other life commitments.
You must have the willingness and ability to make a commitment to your volunteer
assignment. The Children's Department you volunteer in depends on you. We
welcome students and recognize that you have changing schedule needs. We will do
our best to work with you to accommodate these needs.
Volunteering can be a fun
activity and very rewarding, but it also is very serious. Volunteering requires
that you be willing to learn, work hard, be responsible and be open to new
experiences.
