All graduating seniors
planning on attending a college or university & their parents should
attend!
Filling out the FAFSA
can be a difficult task, but it's required for most types of
financial aid. Receive assistance from the Florida Dept. of
Education's Office of Student Financial Assistance while you
complete the online form. Be sure to bring the paperwork you'll need
including 2011 tax info.
Come read, eat and discuss books with other lovers of teen lit.
We meet the third Monday of each month (the fourth in Januarys) to discuss a new book. This
book club is open to grades 8-adult.
Teen music lovers are invited to join our new teen music
interest group, Our Disc Content. We'll explore new music, old
music, songs you love and ones you didn't even know you loved. This
month's meeting we'll be discussing classic and nouveau swing and
what new CDs are coming soon to the Library. Join
our Facebook group to
listen to the playlist we'll be discussing.
There are three ways that teens can help the Winter Park Public
Library and earn volunteer hours doing so.
1. Our library offers a number of weekly volunteer positions to
teens, ages 12-18. For complete info or to apply, click
here. Please be
advised that there is a high demand for these positions, and there
is a waiting list.
2. You can also earn up to 20 volunteer hours from home by writing
book reviews for
You Said It, our
teen book review page. Click
here for full details.
3. Our Teen Advisory Board meets twice a month to advise the YA
Librarian on programs and materials to offer to the Library's teen
patrons. Members receive volunteer service hours for attending
meetings and participating in service activities that TAB conducts.
