American Museum of Photography: This virtual museum includes thousands of images, from the earliest daguerreotype portraits to contemporary masters and exhibitions. Includes a “Research Center” with much historical information.  Highly recommended.        
      

Photo.net: Includes Making Photographs, Post-Exposure, Background, Logistics & Business, Technique, and Film Resources.    
      

Photospot: Photospot is a blog that shares “tips, tricks, techniques, tutorials, ideas, experiments and experience related digital photography, including digital cameras, image processing software and photography in general.”
      

Digicamhelp: Digital camera use, image editing techniques, digital prints and printing, buying cameras, care and more.  
      

Photography from About.com: Articles & resources, how-to tips, buyer’s guide, glossary, famous photographers and much more.   
 

Morguefile: Go to Classroom for their free online photography course on this excellent site.
       

New York Institute of Photography: While this site wants you to sign up for a course, it offers some free instruction via Photo eZine.
