Oral History Association: The OHA “seeks to bring together all persons interested in oral history as a way of collecting and interpreting human memories to foster knowledge and human dignity.”  They encourage “standards of excellence in the collection, preservation, dissemination and uses of oral testimony” and have “established a set of goals, guidelines, and evaluation standards for oral history interviews.”

The Presidential Oral History Program: The University of Virginia’s Miller Center’s Presidential Oral History Program focuses on the Carter, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Clinton administrations, with plans to add future presidents. They also conduct special projects on important topics in political history, including a six-year oral history on the life and career of Senator Edward M. Kennedy.
