Hurricane Preparedness: This site, from the government’s National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA), focuses on how to save lives through preparation and action.  Covers the hazards of high winds, storm surges, floods, tornadoes.

Hurricanes – Health and Safety: From the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), this site features two main categories: “Hurricane Readiness” and “Hurricane Recovery.”  Both categories provide detailed, yet easy to  
follow instructions covering many contingencies.
