 THE LIBRARY'S DATABASES
The Library has purchased a number of electronic databases, which you can access for free on your home computer. You will need the barcode number on the back of your library card to log in. If you need more information, please call (407) 623-3300, ext. 3.

These databases are not Internet sites. They are the counterparts of Library materials and provide a reliable source of research. Please note the copyright notice
on the online database Web page.


To begin, go to the Library homepage at the following address: www.wppl.org then to Reference Resources, then the drop-down menu to Databases.

The Library has gathered hundreds of websites on dozens of topics.  For example, you can find information on American Politics, Demographics, Learning English, Hurricane Preparation, Shakespeare, Estate Planning and 50 other topics by going to the Library’s Starting Points.  Other websites, including Arts & Entertainment, News, Home & Garden, Music, Pets, Travel and 33 others can be found at Good Websites.  For both Starting Points and Good Websites click on Refererence Resources from our home page at www.wppl.org.
FINDING BOOKS & OTHER LIBRARY MATERIALS
In addition to reference books, you may also want to search for other books and materials (videos, audiobooks, etc.) or find other resources. You can access the Library’s online catalog from the Library or at home by going to our Web page (www.wppl.org), then to Search Our Catalog.

 You may also want to check out the collection of thousands of online books (eBooks)
www.netlibrary.com found within the Library’s Web site.  Initially, you must 
 open an account from a Library computer terminal; you’ll then be able to use the account from home as well.  Search eBooks by: subject, title, author, or keyword.  See a reference librarian to set up an account with a username and password.  Then enjoy this excellent service on your home computer.
