TOOLS FOR SUCCESS Programs

Caregiving and meaningful retirement are new challenges arising for employees and employers as the workforce ages. The Lifelong Learning Institute has initiated a program to help address these issues in the workplace before they become major concerns.

The following nationally recognized curricula provide relevant information and useful tools that increase productivity and job satisfaction.

Elder Care Education Series 4 hours

Elder Care Education is a series of four, one-hour sessions addressing the following issues of concern to working caregivers: The Parent-Adult Child Relationship, Health Issues of Aging, Caring Near and Far, and Caring for the Caregiver.

Pathways to Vital Living – 8 hours

This series of two-hour sessions is designed to help adults, middle-aged and older, explore and plan for the second half of their lives, looking at ways that can be meaningful and fulfilling for them, their families and their communities. Among the topics covered are Images of Aging, Your Purpose, Relationships, Meaningful Service, Mind and Body, and Mental Vitality.

As Families Grow Older12 hours

This is a series of six, two-hour sessions addressing the following issues: Family Dynamics, Cooperative Caregiving, Personal & Community Resources, Legal Issues, Financial Planning, Health and Aging, Housing Options and End-of-life Decisions.

Stay tuned:  During the first half of 2007 the Institute is offering programs addressing the needs, concerns and challenges of caregivers. Look for Caring for the Caregiver courses in all our program areas.
