Winter Par As part of the Winter Park Public Library's 125th Anniversary Celebration, it is welcoming New York Times bestselling author Tim Dorsey for a luncheon and author talk on September 22 at 11:30 a.m. at Interlachen Country Club. Attendees will be entertained by mystery/thriller writer Dorsey as he regales the crowd with tales of bringing to life his trademark character Serge Storms, star of 12 novels. Admission will include a delicious lunch provided by the chefs at the Interlachen Country Club, as well as a signed copy of a Tim Dorsey hardcover novel. Dorsey will be available after the program to personalize books. Tickets will be $57.50 with all profits supporting the materials, programs and services of the Library. They will go on sale August 18 at www.wppl.org/dorsey and at the Library. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $650 and include preferred seating and recognition at and after the event.
Dorsey, who lives in Tampa, is well known for his series of Florida
crime capers written in a style reminiscent of Dave Barry or Carl
Hiaasen. His The Library is located at 460 E. New England Ave., and Interlachen Country Club is at 2245 Interlachen Court, both in Winter Park. Founded December 9, 1885, the Winter Park Public Library is celebrating 125 years of service to its community. Originally consisting of a few dozen books housed on the front porch of an early city resident, the Library is now home to around 200,000 items including books, movies, audiobooks, music, videogames, software, newspapers and magazines. It also provides high-tech, Internet-based resources and educational programs for everyone from infants to retirees. ###
